The sailing world is full of heroes, full of adventurers and full of exciting stories. British Marine presents the Legends Theatre, hosted by Sky Sports presenter Alec Wilkinson, which will bring together a league of elite sailors who will share their stories, insights and adventures. Drawn from across the breadth of the boating world, celebrities will include Vendée Globe veteran, Mike Golding, record-breaking yachtswoman, Dee Caffari, and for those of you who are keen Radio 4 listeners, the voice of the Shipping Forecast Zeb Soanes.

Alex Thomson  

Alex Thomson - THURSDAY 11 JANUARY*

The fastest Brit to ever sail solo round the world in a monohull. Last year, after 74 days, 19 hours and 35 minutes at sea, Alex Thomson reached the finish line of the Vendée Globe and in doing so, broke his own British record of 80 days for the fastest solo circumnavigation of the globe in a monohull.

One of the world’s most accomplished and successful offshore sailors with over 250,000 sailing miles and a podium success in many of the world’s toughest and most extreme yacht racing events.

Dee Caffari  

Dee Caffari - THURSDAY 11 JANUARY*

Dee was the first woman to sail single handedly around the world in both directions, and will record a special message from her Volvo Ocean Boat Race.

Tracy Edwards  

Tracy Edwards MBE - SATURDAY 13 JANUARY*

Tracy is a legend of British Sailing and the first woman to be awarded Yachtsman of the Year.

Sam Davies  

Sam Davies - SATURDAY 13 JANUARY*

Sam is a round the World Sailor who has competed in the Vendee Globe and Volvo Ocean Race.

Lars Simonsen  

Lars Simonsen - WEDNESDAY 10, SATURDAY 13, SUNDAY 14 JANUARY*

Lars, his wife and their two young children set out on a 4000 miles kayaking expedition from Copenhagen to Istanbul. Lars will be at the Legends Theatre telling us the story of his adventure on Wednesday 10, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 of January.

Conrad Humphreys  

Conrad Humphreys - WEDNESDAY 10 JANUARY*

Circumnavigated the world three times, Conrad was selected as the skipper of Bounty’s End in C4 reality show, Mutiny which reconstructed Captain Bligh’s 4000 mile voyage of survival.  

Casper Craven  

Caspar Craven - SUNDAY 14 JANUARY*

Inspired by legend Chay Blyth, Caspar, his wife and his three children sailed around the world. He tells us their dramatic story of courage and survival.

Zeb Soanes  

Zeb Soanes - SUNDAY 14 JANUARY*

BBC Radio 4’s voice of the Shipping Forecast makes his return to the Legends Theatre and gives us an insight into how this very British tradition gets on air.

Ocean Brothers  

Ocean Brothers - Dr Greg Bailey & Jude Massey - EVERYDAY*

Live from the start line of their epic 3000 miles row across the Atlantic Ocean, we will have a special link up with the Ocean Brothers in the Gran Canaria to discuss the 11 week challenge ahead of them.

Kim Dugan (Saturday 13 January) and Ed Hall (Sunday 14 January) - Boat Show Brunch, 12pm

From the RNLI - Kim appeared in Series 2, Ep12 of Saving Lives at Sea, when Portsmouth Lifeboat Atlantic 85 launched to a report of four persons in the water after their dinghies had capsized in the harbour entrance.

Ed has been on the crew at Chiswick Lifeboat Station on the Thames since 2002, making him one of the longest standing volunteer crew at the station and has countless stories of different rescues he can tell!
