John Goode has been appointed by National Boat Shows as a consultant for the 2008 Collins Stewart London Boat Show at ExCeL. John’s role will be to develop quality visitor attractions at the Show in January whilst progressing opportunities with exhibitors and interested parties looking to explore ways to get involved.
John is a familiar name – and face – of the marine industry. A legendary sailor, John had salt in his veins from an early age, having gone to sea ‘under sail’ at the age of 12 and was a Merchant Navy navigation officer for many years. He’s passionate about all things boating, including the renowned Southern Sailing School – a trust which he runs as a way of life with the love of the sea being the common denominator for all concerned.
John is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation, a senior RYA Yachtmaster Examiner and, until recently, freelance editor and seamanship/navigation writer of Sailing Today.
James Gower, Director of Marketing at National Boat Shows said “John’s sea of knowledge in the marine industry will give our attractions further accuracy, relevance and educational content combined with fun to create resources for enthusiasts and a wow day out for our casual visitors”.
To discuss “value in kind opportunities” such as supplying products / staff and participatory content please contact John by email at john@southern.co.uk or on 01489 580836.
Preparations for the 2008 Collins Stewart London Boat Show at ExCeL are well underway and the contractors for the Main Stage attraction will be announced shortly.
