Following her arrival, and introduction to representatives of the RYA (Royal Yachting Association), British Marine Federation (BMF) and ExCeL, Her Royal Highness was the guest of honour at an official luncheon by the RYA.
Her Royal Highness was then taken on a tour of the Show which included visits to some of this year’s features. Sue Baggaley, Managing Director of CSL Publishing was on hand to talk through the aims of the Start Boating Feature, brought by the British Marine Federation and National Boat Shows and in association with All At Sea.
The Classic Boat Feature, sponsored by Classic Boat Magazine, International Paint and Old Pulteney, was also of particular interest and HRH The Princess Royal was given a tour of the offering on the feature, including Boadicea – the Oyster Smack celebrating her 200th birthday at the Show – the efforts of the Cutty Sark Conservation Project team and the boatbuilders from the MITEC centre in Milford Haven.

Princess Anne visited the Raymarine stand, where she met and congratulated the newly crowned Raymarine Young Sailor of the Year, Laurence Greenough.
On the final leg of the tour, Her Royal Highness visited the BMF/RYA stand, where she took the opportunity to meet staff from the organisations. Following this, she presented the 2007 RYA Yachtmaster of the Year Award to winner Robert Queen from Livingston.
