ROYAL NAVY AT THE SHOW

Since 2004, when the Show moved to ExCeL in London’s Docklands,
the Royal Navy has worked closely with National Boat Shows to bring
a number of Frigates to the Show, but this year sees the best
yet!
Displayed outside on the marina for the 10 days of the Show will
be HMS Westminster, a type 23 Frigate so make sure
you climb onboard.
Launched in 1992 and commissioned into service in 1994. The
highly versatile multi-role warship can take on any mission from
anti-ship and anti-submarine warfare protecting capital ships and
merchantmen; to providing humanitarian aid in the wake of a natural
disaster.
The Show will also welcome the launch of the Royal Navy careers
stand in the North Hall and a Jazz band in the boulevard (East
Entrance) playing daily between 10.30am – 5pm.
Lieutenant Commander Penny Clark, part of Skandia Team GBR will
also be present at the Show on the Main
Stage – Powered by Fairline on Monday 12th
January, before paying a visit to HMS Westminster.
Penny Clark is currently sailing full time with the active
support of the Royal Navy in order to maximise her chances of
Olympic Gold, after finishing 10th in the Radial class in Qingdao
this summer.
