Limited Edition WaveRunner Unveiled by Yamaha Motor (UK) Ltd to
Celebrate 50th Anniversary of GP Racing
A unique WaveRunner has been created by
Yamaha Motor (UK) Ltd in celebration of Yamaha’s 50 year racing
heritage. The WaveRunner will be unveiled at the Tullet Prebon
London International Boat Show Yamaha stand H180 – where it will be
on display for the duration of the show.
The World Grand Prix WaveRunner is the on water embodiment of
the Yamaha racing spirit. Resplendent in the red, white and black
50th Anniversary colours, the WGP WaveRunner looks impressive on or
off the water.
Your local WaveRunner dealer is taking orders of the craft now and
YMUK have warned they expect demand to outstrip the limited edition
run.
Since May 1961, when Yamaha first participated in a grand prix
race, the passion and spirit of racing has run throughout the
company. This exciting special edition reflects the WGP Anniversary
Edition motorcycles which share the same speed block livery as the
ski. This celebratory red, black and white livery was also used by
the Yamaha Factory Racing MotoGP team in several races throughout
the 2011 calendar.
The WGP WaveRunner is based on the VXR which features Yamaha
Motor’s 1,812cc marine engine, the largest displacement engine ever
in a production watercraft. The naturally aspirated high output
power unit is complimented by NanoXcel® hull technology. This
results in superb acceleration, top speed and handling agility,
together with supreme fuel efficiency.
The launch revealed a bonus for customers who are also
motorcycle fans – as the reigning British Superbike Champion Tommy
Hill unveiled the WGP WaveRunner at the London Boat Show and
confirmed that customers purchasing a WGP WaveRunner will receive a
pair of VIP tickets to a British Superbike round in 2012 courtesy
of the Championship winning Swan Yamaha team.
The YMUK team have also produced a limited edition owner’s pack
which certifies the limited number of the ski and provides a
memento for the owner. More information is available online –
