BOATS.COM LAUNCHES BOATSPOD, THE WORLD’S FIRST DIGITAL OFFERING OF MARINE DEALS AND PERSONALISED EDITORIAL

With the launch of BoatsPOD, an innovative online product , UK boating enthusiasts are now receiving a weekly mix of news, feature stories, and exclusive discounts relevant to their particular boating interests.

BoatsPOD (“personalized online download”) is the first of its kind in the boating world. For the first time, boaters can sign up for a free weekly delivery of stories focused on their specific types of boating, including several written by experienced marine authors. In addition, subscribers receive dramatic offers from major marine companies unavailable elsewhere.

Readers can manage the type of stories they read each week through an online profile.  “Besides giving subscribers the chance to fine tune each weekly edition,” said Julian Gowing, general manager of Boats.com Europe, “what’s exciting and unique about BoatsPOD is that readers can upload and share their own stories through the same interface.” Subscribers may also place advertisements for readers in the their local marina area at no charge.

Since the soft launch of BoatsPOD in November, 2011, dozens of special offers have been provided by major companies including Henri-Lloyd, 3H Italia, LaserPerformance, Hobie Exclusive, and Harken. While anyone may subscribe to boatsPOD, offers are currently only available in the UK.

Boats.com welcomes boaters and trade representatives to learn more about BoatsPOD at the Boardwalk lounge they are sponsoring at the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show. The show runs from 6-15 January at ExCel London.
