Wireless marine electronics manufacturer Tacktick is teaming up
with Formula One
TM and America’s Cup technology provider
Cosworth to deliver a high-tech daily winch grinding challenge at
the 2011 Show.
A state-of-the-art Cosworth Lewmar winch
pedestal will measure contestants winch grinding speed, torque and
power with real-time results displayed on a 60” Plasma screen using
Tacktick wireless technology combined with Cosworth’s data
electronics and Pi Toolbox analysis software.
The Tacktick Cosworth Winch Grinding Challenge
will run three times a day throughout the Show with prizes for best
scores of the day and overall Show winner taking home a precision
Suunto watch. The challenge will take place at midday, 2pm, 4pm
each day.
Throughout the Show sailing celebrities will
visit the Tacktick Cosworth Winch Grinding Challenge to set
celebrity targets which visitors to the show can then match
themselves against. Visitors taking part in the Tacktick
Cosworth Winch Grinding Challenge will receive a graph of their
efforts versus the celebrity of the day.
Best scores of the day will be displayed along
with a sailing celebrities leader board.
