JECKELLS THE SAILMAKER AND BAINBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL PROUDLY
SPONSORING HILARY LISTER IN THE 2011 FASTNET RACE
Forever pushing the boundaries and taking on new challenges
Jeckells The Sailmakers is proud to announce its sponsorship of
Hilary Lister in the 2011 Fastnet Race. Along with Bainbridge
International, Jeckells The Sailmakers will provide Hilary with the
sails she requires for her adapted Class 40 boat to successfully
complete the competitive off-shore expedition.
Chris Haylett of Jeckells The Sailmakers comments: “Hilary is a
true inspiration to the sailing world so when the opportunity arose
to help her with this incredible challenge we jumped at the chance.
Through this Hilary has put in place the development of new
hardware and techniques and will be pushing the limits of what is
possible under sail. To be a part of this is hugely exciting but of
course provides a huge challenge for ourselves and Bainbridge
International in ensuring that we provide a sail that meets her
very specific requirements. With the technology and expertise we
combine we will be setting Hilary off with the best available in
the industry in her attempt at victory in the 2011 Fastnet
race.”
Both Jeckells The Sailmakers and Bainbridge International have a
wealth of experience to pull on. With both boasting around a
century’s trading and still going strong, each is independently
known for producing the highest quality sails using the best
materials available.
No stranger to producing sails for high profile campaigns
Bainbridge International has seen their sails used in campaigns
such as America’s Cup, Volvo Ocean Race and the Ellen MacArther
Trust. James Hudson, Export Sailmaker Manager at the company,
comments: “Bainbridge International, in conjunction with Jeckells
The Sailmakers are very proud to be involved with Hilary’s project
for the Fastnet race in her Open 40. We will be working closely
with Jeckells and Hilary from now and right through to the build up
to the start of the race in 2011 and hope this will be the
beginning of a long and successful relationship.”
